Solidarity with Trade Unions
As we have said many times, our fight is not just a fight against an aggressor. We would like to see postwar Ukraine as a free and fair society. And the issue of economic equality is among the most important issues for us. So while some Ukrainian businessmen dream of a “libertarian paradise” where even basic education should be a commodity, we continue to support Ukrainian trade unions.
Hundreds of thousands of workers have become soldiers in the Armed Forces of Ukraine today, so probably the most important task for trade unions is now to support these fighters and their family members. And we modestly help them with this. For instance, in the past two months, we delivered a helmet, binoculars, a monocular, power banks, military boots, headwear, military uniform sets, IFAK medical kits and tactical medicine kits, civilian radio sets, gas masks.
We also sent medical equipment for hospitals to nurses from the Be Like Nina movement. They’ve also founded their own trade union, and they actively fight for the rights of medical workers and the improvement of working conditions at their hospitals.
Finally, we sent sleeping bags, sleeping mats, flashlights and headlamps, and batteries for them to our partners from the Labor Initiatives who defend the labor rights of workers in peaceful times and deliver humanitarian cargo in the time of war.
Together with the trade unions, we plan to implement even bigger projects. So if you are also interested in supporting Ukrainian workers, we are always open to dialogue.
