One more extraordinary person has been taken from us by the war. With great sorrow, we inform you about the death of our comrade, left-wing journalist and popularizer of science Yevheniy Osiyevskyi. Zhenia died on 22 May near Bakhmut.

The beginning of the war caught him at a university dormitory in Vorzel, a town near Bucha, Hostomel and Irpin. So he spent the first two weeks in occupation, and wrote an excellent report about it. Later he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Zhenia was an incredibly talented and energetic person. A true idealist and dreamer. When he wanted to write a good reportage article, he could get immersed in the life of pagans or Krishna worshipers for several months, or complete several Scientology levels. He also planned a trip to the Vanuatu islands in the Pacific. His plans were disrupted first by COVID, and then by the war.

Zhenia is gone, but he has left behind the best memories, many friends, and a great legacy: a whole series of amazingly interesting articles full of witty humor and literary talent. You can read them on the websites of Commons and Kunsht .

On 30 May, Zhenia was buried in his hometown, Kropyvnytsky.
